Name, wake word & personality
Last updated July 2026 · ~4 min read
A teammate’s identity is three things you own per deployment: the name people call it, the wake word that summons it, and the personality that shapes how it shows up. You set each one, and every change is versioned and written to the audit log.
Name
Give the teammate a name your organization would naturally say out loud — Jim, Todd, Ariel. Names must be unique within your tenant, so a mention in a calendar invite is never ambiguous, and a short reserved set of keywords is off-limits. You can rename a teammate later; the new name propagates to the participant list, wake-word recognition, and invite mentions. Renaming never resets memory — the teammate keeps everything it already knows.
Wake word
The wake word is the name said out loud to summon the teammate in a meeting. Address it by name and it responds; other teammates in the same meeting stay quiet. The same name drives mention parsing in calendar invites, so an @-mention is recognized when that teammate is attending.
Personality
Personality is plain-language custom instructions you write once. They are carried into every meeting the teammate joins, shaping tone and behavior without any scripting. You also set a speaking style here. Every teammate keeps a full change history, so you can see what its instructions were at any point in time.
The AI disclosure is on by default and cannot be removed through the name field. In the participant list the teammate always shows as an AI assistant.
